Link saying ahh, ooh, hiah etc doesnt make him very expresive, and his reaction shots looked stupid to me, but I guess thats the reason ART is based on subjective appreciation. Wind Waker Link was better at expressing emotions but that has something more to do with the art style than anything else |
If you're not pretending to hold to some higher or absolute standard, that's fine, but this still isn't the topic for it. Though in the future you might want to keep in mind how the tone of your statements informs the way that they're interpreted.
There's nothing more subtle about facial expressions vs. voices, it's just... different. The more artsy part of it is how they characterize the silent protagonist, but that has been changing from game to game over time. It's not a static thing.
It's fine that your opinion differs, but you haven't really supported why.
Yes, art and the interpretation of it and reaction to it is very subjective, and bound to vary from person to person. It's a shame that Link as a silent protaonist doesn't appeal to you, but it works fine for me. I don't imagine they'll abandon it, even if they go full voice acting for everything else.
