The Wii cannot sell less than 50m in its entire lifetime. There's no way. Even if third-party developers stopped releasing games at all, and Nintendo was the only company to release anything, it would still put out enough to reach the 50m mark. And that's on the negative side of things.

See, after having been out for over a year now, it's outlived the "fad" stage. From here out, with stuff like Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and Wii Play, too many people are interested in it. I still play Wii Sports and Wii Play from time to time, and I'm not even a casual gamer. I'm willing to wager that the Wii would have gone through its entire lifespan (approximately 6 years for something of this sort) and broken the 25m mark off of just those three games.
