If you look at several games on Wii that have just as high or higher Metacritic scores on Wii than the Wii series games, it does appear that certain types of games don't sell as well on Wii as other types.
They try to explain away every high quality game on Wii that doesn't sell well as just being a niche title; however, prior to this gen I think a game like Carnival Games would have been considered niche on PS2 and not reached anywhere near the sales it has while a Final Fantasy game on PS2 probably would have sold much better on PS2 than CB on Wii.
I guess they types of games I enjoyed in the past and that most other people enjoyed have become niche while games like Wii Sports have become the new mainstream.
I prefer the older days.
