I'd wait until the 3.0 is launched before making any judgements. For some reason, people seem to think that paid data membership will overflow to the forums - it will be totally seperate. You won't know if anyone has paid for a standard or premium membership, it will just be them who will see more or less features on the charts section of the site. It won't affect anything else.

And to be honest, you are currently limited to top 200 games per week, top 50 per console and publisher, first 10 weeks of sales on games pages - it's not like you can freely view all the data now (as you will be able to do with a premium membership and to a lesser extent with a standard membership).

[...]

So would totals, for all the platforms or for each console, like this pages http://vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?console=Wii remain fully available like now? For most sales discussions complete totals and Top200 and Top50 per console weekly should be enough, actually Top50 weekly per publisher can often exceed what it's worth discussing. First 10 weeks of sales are what we currently have and are most often enough too, having also the totals. If we keep on having access to all the totals all the rest that you listed is really enough for most of us. If the current charts remain available too, I can't imagine what would become restricted, though.
