Here's are some of my thoughts on the preorders so far:

1) I'm not suprised with Mass Effect 2's preorder numbers. It's clearly showing that people realize that the sequel is going to be a much better game than the first (which was already an awesome game). It's a no brainer that it'll continue to rise to up around about 500 k preoders by launch and approximately 550 k - 600 k US sales alone. Worldwide around 800 k at launch week.

2) What's more suprising is God of War III's numbers. It's only been given a March release period and a old build demo and yet it's no far behind Mass Effect 2's preorder numbers which has only 2 weeks till launch. To me that's more astonishing. GOW III is definitely shaping to have a big launch week.

3) I think both myself and many others would've predicted that the PS3 version of FF XIII would outsell it's other version. Seeing the preorders so far, the PS3 is almost double the other version.

4) Both White Knight Chronicles and Heavy Rain so far have pretty lackster preorders. I mean, they're both lower than Gran Turismo 5 which hasn't been given any specific release date other than Summer 2010. But Heavy Rain I guess has more time to build up it's preorders and I'm sure we'll see some significant increases once a demo is released. I mean I think there would be people interested in Heavy Rain but want to try it out before they purchase it and the demo would help. But I don't know how much WKC preorders can increase so much in the coming weeks even with a demo.

5) Is it just me or does anyone else wonder why PS3 Dante's Inferno's preorder number are quite high compared to the 360 version? It's almost double the 360 version and actually very close to preorders to Splinter Cell. Can someone tell me why? I actually never predicted that. Did the PS3 exclusive collector's edition thing help or something?

6) Also is it just me or does BioShock 2's preorder numbers (360 version) seem a bit lackster for a sequel to a highly praised and critically acclaimed Game of the Year 2007? I'm sure there would be a big increase as we get closer to the release date but I was actually kinda expecting more from BioShock 2.

I'll comment on your thoughts (lol):

1. I agree, astonishing pre-orders! Should outsell ME1 handidly

2. GOW2 launched to around 500K - 600K in NA, so i wouldn;t say its very very surprising, but good nonetheless.

3. the PS3 version of FF13 right now is tracking ahead of ME2 in the same time period, if it sees similar increases we should see a 600K week 1 for FF13 on PS3 alone, add 360 & you have a 900K week 1 in the american region.....who knows how the increases will turn out though. Worldwide FF13 should be PS3 2nd biggest week 1 ever!!!

4. Heavy Rain & WKC ARE lackluster and I agree with you that HEavy Rain has a better chance to get more pre-orders as after marketing this game could really get people thinking & maybe even purchasing it. It will have legs. WKC on the other hand is a JRPG = no legs usually & is low on pre-orders, things don't look good.

5) I have no clue at all, also PS3 is getting GOW3, so wouldn't PS3 gamers be going for GOW3 and ignoring Dante;s Inferno?! obviously that isn't happening.

6) Bioshock 1 wasn't that "big" & bioshock 2 hardly has any hype among other big Q1 releases.
