er... great!

We can ship our car abroad, do a timed lap, ship it back and try to beat it on GT5. Seriously... what is the point of this? Cute feauture I'll grant you but id be surprised if more than a few dozen people ever do this.

Just get the game out ffs.

Not really, ever heard of somethine called "red letter days"? They offer packages where you get to drive expensive cars around a track for a reasonable price. : yeah I have... and... do you seriously think any amateur could make it interesting enough to get anywhere near on a track what they could on GT5? its not about making it interesting enough, it is about being able to show your friends howyou drove a real race car in real life and then upload onto youtube and then improve on it. Or possibly even learn how to drive the car in thegame and see how it compares in real life. I am sure you are capable of using your imagination and dont need simple things such as these spelling out.

2ndly, what if this gps tracking system becomes more popular in the street racing scenes and more afordable?  street racing? what does this have to do with GT5?well last i checked, street racing requires a car and a track and racing. last I checked gt5 has cars, tracks and racing.

What if professionals stars using this function; such as racers etc for their careers? what does this have to do with GT5? are you suggesting professional racers will develop their skills on a ps3? seriously?  LOL.dont know why you are laughing. i have plenty of friends who work as car mechanics and a few of them used to take part in races at santa pods. they used to see how far they can push their cars in gt4 and forza and then try replicate things on the tracks. now they can do that and whatever they do on the track they can go back and look at it within the game, share ir and see how to improve on it. See? once you find a use for this feature, it can become pretty useful!

What if professionals such as engineers start using this feature to test their new vehicles or modded vehicles? What does this have to do with gaming and PS3 gamers? you either genuinly dont know or you are just playing dumb. which part of testing the vehicle is hard to understand? e.g. you get a car, you make some mods to it. you take it around the track a few times. you store the replay on the ps3. you can then compare the performance to other cars, how it performed before you modded it and see how it may compare with additional mods.

This feature has many benefits for many people, whether it is entertainment and or professional. Although, and I agree on this point not everyone maybe able to benefit from it, doesn't mean the feature is useless or not needed. e.g. i hardly play mp, but I don't undervalue its addition. I have an iphone and I do not use half the functions on it, but it doesn't mean they are useless and no one can make use of them. It's like many people who have bought the Nissan SKyline which has Supercar performance, yet they will hardly ever come a point in their life where they will be able to make even 50% use of what the car is and its performance.  YES it does, your analogies are way off..as i said previously, those who know how to make use of this feature, will do it and appreciate it. those who are unable to make use of it or find it difficult to apply the feature probably will never use it. this doesn't meen my analogy is way off, or the feature being useless just because you are unable to find use for it or you cannot think of ways the feature could benefit anyone.

This feature is amazing, it will probably be implemented by different people in many different ways and by some in no way shape or form, but remember, this game is more than just another racer. It is a game designed for car enthusiasts and what car fanatic will not welcome such an amazing feature?  No, it is a game designed for gamers... car enthusiasts drive real cars.Actually we are both wrong. it is a game designed for gamers and car enthusiasts. hence it is more of a simulator than an arcade game. i.e. microsoft flight simulator is not seen as a game but something more for flight enthusiasts.
