Well, those might not all actually count. Those are, unless I'm mistaken, the amount of players that have either created a trial, or paid for WoW within the last 6 months. For all you know, quite a lot of those could come from trials.
Secondly, can you not buy WoW digitally? We lack digital numbers, and thus all of those have to be ignored. So any numbers that would have come from downloading WoW (rather than buying it retail) will have to be discounted.
