Hmm, animals that talk, wooden dolls that are magically alive, robots, ancient god of war, some other ancient god monster, men catching bullets with teeth, ninjas with magical stick feet riding on the underside of jets while standing and a devil that for some reason has to manifest itself genetically despite other such beings just appear.

Yeah, great story.

You just listed things you dislike about the characters, not the story. Second of all...haven't you ever watched anime?

Having watched anime doesn't qualify Tekken for a good story. Any story that involves a fighting tournament to avoid *insert catastrophe of choice* is just poor.

It worked for me in Dragonball because I was a kid, it doesn't work now.

You missed his point. His complaints are about the characters, and these characters would be perfectly fine in an Anime.

That I did miss, but I also think I indirectly said that comparing Tekken to an anime won't make the story good. That also translates into Tekken not having a good story, even for an anime.

Random characters do not translate into a bad story. I'm not implying that the story is good (I really enjoyed it when I was younger, though) but this whole argument si hardly about the story thanks to his initial statement.

Well, I interpreted it as being about story mainly, so I gave my two cents when the moment seemed right.

Your initial response was about the characters not the story; however, as Rainbird said (and yes, he actually got my point) I always knew tekken could only work in anime and CGI if done right.

Much like the Halo ODST commercial, Namco left hints as to how you can make a good Tekken movie with CGI movies. This movies showed strength and very little weakness for the potential of a film.
