Stores may just accept that PS3 will sell more slowly for now, and will definitely sell out in the long term. Would be silly to reduce the PS3 shelf space at this stage, so they just keep their units - and focus on selling other items that are selling more quickly. The exception would be any stores that have LOTS of PS3 units in stock - they could be uncomfortable about stocking so many, and would try to get rid of some of them (quickly). The big loser in all this is Sony - as the more stores are hurt, and the less sell-through there is for the PS3 - and smaller re-orders from Sony would be (or even non-existent - at least until more titles come out).
