If you are hardcore about specific Genre's then different consoles can be your console of choice for those types of games. However if you are just a hardcore gamer into all types of games that I don't believe any consoles offers nearly as much diversity as the PS3 does. The PC used to hold the crown but not anymore. They are only dominant in a few genre's and completely lack support for many other genre's.
