Because the forum community is not a representative sample of the population of Wii owners. The average forum goer is likely to be more interested in additional features as they do see value in them. Someone as constantly connected to the internet as most people here do not like having to sever that connection. Rather they want the experience they believe should be mandatory at all times. The problem is thats not what the vast majority of Wii owners are like, or at least so it seems.
Every console can be improved, and so can every game. I am not denying this. I am refusing to believe that a list of features dictates quality of a game, or the level of effort put forth by the company. It is one tiny aspect of the much bigger whole. Some games would seem crippled and worthless without some features, and yet others are left entirely unaffected because it is not required for the gaming experience.
