Bah just put up a condensed version in the Nintendo forums.
The biggest issue in this article to me is the current model used by most companies to churn out sequels like crazy. Sure it's successful on PS360 users, but Wii owners, once they have their shooter, their chances of grabbing another one are slim and none.
The question isn't so much if third parties will innovate but whether it's possible to do so, and if not what are the long term implications for these companies. Are they dinosaurs on their way out, or can sequelitis continue for the next 10 years?
