I am anything but biased towards Mario. I was not excited at all for NSMB Wii. I wanted it to fail.

But I love this game. I love it more every time I play it. Yesterday I accidentally stumbled upon a secret path in World 7 that lead to a completely awesome level I'd never seen before. A game hasn't given me such a feeling of accomplishment in a long time. The level design and deceptively deep mechanics are just brilliant.

I haven't played Splosion Man but NSMB Wii deserves all the praise it gets.

This is pretty much how I feel (except the wanting it to fail part).  I really wasn't expecting that much but now I do love this game.

I got the game for Christmas and I'm enjoying at least as much now as I did when i first played it.  I've even tried a few stage speed runs which isn't something i've ever bothered to do in a platformer before.

Also I discoverd the same path (i think) in world seven just the other day, followed by that cool stage.

OT: I actually couldn't care less what IGN has to say these days.  When their values and attitudes towards games are obviously so different to mine there really isn't much point paying attention what they have to say.
