i don't own a slim, mine's a 40gb model and it has kept me entertained for 2years+ now.
But i have to say when it comes to hardware, Sony really know their stuff. My ps3 runs for hours without rest - there are times when i don't turn it off for days- and it has never given me any problems. And the best thing of all, it operates SOOO quietly! This is extremely important to me as i share a room with my brother and i like the fact that i can continue playing without disrupting his sleep.
