I agree with you that DF was better than AT but I actually agree with you for completely opposite reasons.
I felt AT was way too over the top with all the action. I felt like they tried to make their levels too epic and be like God Of War but it didn't really make sense to me how big the scale of the environments in the context of the game. God Of War is dealing with Gods and giant creatures. Why is the scale of things so epic in this game? These are just regular human beings and the game is based on the real world. Make the scale real world.
The storyline was kinda eh. The twists and turns felt way more forced than Drake's Fortune, which had the best Hollywood story in any game, ever. I didn't understand the sasquatch characters either, why would the guardians wear those outfits? Was it their way of saying the Sasquatch is real, but they are the guardians. *wink wink*
I felt the level designs were very poor and usually didn't feel organic or creative at all. What are all these fire escape ladders doing in this temple type place? Why did they only decide to place carts in areas where you had to use them? It just really felt like they were putting things in place for Drake rather than Drake(me) finding them there to use.
I wish they had more areas where I could walk and explore and intake the environment. I felt that the game was go go go all the time and I didn't get to enjoy the beauty of the game in the second one. I think some of my favorite parts were when I'm just doing basic platforming and the characters are having an interesting conversation even if it's just stupid banter or telling a back story. I think they should use those more often. It feels a lot more engrossing that constant gunfire.
I thought the action sequences in this game like jumping from trucks, hanging from trains, and running across and shooting down falling bridges were spectacular. But I also wished they had more moments like when you are drudging through the water up to your waist and shooting guys. That environment felt so awesome it really let me intake the game.
Also I think the multiplayer completely sucks. This game is terribly translated into competitive multiplayer it is not meant to be a deathmatch game. But even with all those things I didn't like I'd still have to give the overall experience of the game a 9.5/10. I'd just say it's not as good as my favorite game of all time: Drake's Fortune.
I also agree, I wish he went after Chloe. Hopefully she shows up in future games. I also wish every bad guy didn't die every time. It's taking away their chance to have surprise returns and such. I liked the Eddie Raja character, especially after watching the motion comic, I felt they had good chemistry. I wish he made a surprise appearance but unfortunately he died in the first game.
