Well since their money spent was over the course of 4 (or 6) years, at least the release of the game will be the end of such a huge financial drain on them. This kind of helps explain why the company was always posting such financial losses. If they can whip that team in to shape and get the next game out the door with reduced costs, we should see a stronger, leaner Rockstar.

Not going to happen.

It seems to me like management itself is the problem.  The team is already bearing more burden than it should.

I remember when things like this started to pop up about EA. That was the start of EA's decline.

Well the difference is that R* are still cranking out great games, just not that many of them... EA's game quality did decline, though it has rebounded greatly

I wouldn't count on quality being maintained in the face of horrible management, bleeding money, and disgruntled labour.

It could be that these problems are confined to the San Diego studio, though. Rockstar has plenty of other development houses to fall back on.

Well I am worried about most R* studios, but not about R* North which is working on Agent and maybe GTA. The problem is the story talks about general mismanagment from Rockstar New York, which is the head office, where they focus on one thing at a time, so go for ages without contact, then call for drastic cuts. There have also been stories about awful working conditions, so I hope they sort it out. They have made great games, and they just need to sort out of their studio. The problem is they have grown quite a lot and don't really seem able to cope with it
