That was always my position on it as well. The game is as successful as one could optimistically expect. @Euphoria If a game does well enough to get a sequel, then its clearly a hit. Dunno how you could argue otherwise. I'll also admit to thinking the PSPGo flopped, but I hadn't heard an official statement from Sony. I am surprised at their expectations, but I am going to guess the people that get paid million of dollars to come up with a business strategy have a bit better of an idea what they are doing. Mostly I feel this is true as I lack the aforementioned 7 figure salary, although I am open to new offers. |
Problem though is how can anyone honestly sit here and declare that it didn't meet expectations? There is zero to back up that claim and people posting it as though it is fact is incredibly wrong from how I look at it.
Only thing we really have to look at really is that Media Molecule stated that they are very pleased with the game's sales, this was back in January 2009 and before Kaz Harai announced that it sold around 1.3M at CES '09. I posted a link for this in this thread a few pages back.
Now the game is sitting just over 3M. If they were pleased at 1.3M I am sure 3M is at least around what they expected wouldn't you think?
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
