I still see the PS3 as having this problem more than the PS1 or PS2 did. And like I said, most of the games you just mentioned are multiplat. I just don't see the PS3 getting very many major exlusive third party titles. And because of this, and because of Sony's incredibly strong lineup - Lair, Resistence, Ratchet and Klank, Gran Tourismo, Kilzone 2, God of War and all those others we regularily talk about on this forum, and I see a console in which the first party publisher dominates overwhelmingly. Which would be fine if it was a major selling console with enough space to go around to everyone. Right now it's ok if the Wii is dominated by Nintendo, because by the looks of things, there'll still be ample sales and profits for everybody else, ala DS. I see the PS3 being the console this gen that is bought mostly for Sony exclusives. |
Gameing changed form those eras, development costs are to much for most to do exclusives. Its still getting most of the games, 360 is now losing exclusives avoiding +3 million hardcore gamers is to much for most devs. While alot of the time wii gets left in the dark due to its limiting hardware, many games are becoming PS3/360 now.
Like it or not the PS3 still has the biggest 3rd party exclusives, after this 1st party will have to hold up the console so how exacly is a strong 1st party line up a bad thing ?
and its not like a devs will have a easier time going up agianst Nintendo first party games on the Wii, we all know 3rd party going agianst a Miyamoto game is suicide.
