I am 100% certain they didn't need the DLC to turn a profit.

As already mentioned, this was a 25 man dev team that started in a studio above a toilet store.

 

This was their first game ever and it goes on to sell 3M+ and counting and continues to have healthy legs.

I would easily call that a "Hit".

I am curious. If 3M+ in 1+ years for a title that wasn't high budget, had a 25 man dev team and was a companies first ever title isn't considered a hit, what do we consider games like Mass Effect which had a much larger dev team and a much higher budget and went on to sell 2.13M in 2+ years?
