Wow, I had no idea High Street was a Britishism. (And my wife is American so I notice these things.) Most towns/cities, a lot of shopping is still concentrated in the town centre. This is traditionally called the "High Street". Often literally (it's the name of the street) or often just as a generic name. So the High Street price is what you pay in a store on the main street of your town. Actually i haven't seen it as one word before (highstreet) but anyway.
