well Nintendo has helped Sega this gen, so indirectly they have helped Sega with mature content. Both mario and sonic games have probably made some of the most ridiculous profit margins amongst all games this gen. They are medium/relatively low budget games with medium budget marketing that get sales of elite games. Mario and Sonic is ranked #58 all time in highest sales. It would penetrate the top 50 but it will get passed before then.
