Nah it's obvious that they don't make an average score as most (dare I say all ?) reviewers.
Gameplay is the most important part of a game and that's why it did not get a 90+ score.

I think you might have confused combat with gameplay. In which case I haven't heard anything positive about either...besides that it might provide some challenge.

I have read all on neogaf, most on amazon, all on ffxiii.net & all the fan sites
I have seen the very harshest critics praise the combat of the game
ofcourse in your view nothing is probably impressive about the game, considering what your stance & attitude towards it was

From what I have seen, story and sound are priased, but the rest of the features are heavily critized.

actually I have seen characters being praised overall (BTW don't worry about your hope thoughts, he's quite different than you thought) & said the story was lacking compared to great characters. I have seen combat & gameplay praised & sound praised.

What is sad, that sound might go down for me, since Import version has a better main theme. Yes to me main themes matter.
I know about Hope and Snow....but people seem to be liking the character I still hate....so I don't know anymore.

no it won't as you mean the main song. (you are confusing main theme with main song)
I don't wanna give spoilers but the japanese main song is at the bit of the game that doesn't matter at all
the other japanese main song, eternal love is in a story bit, thats where my hands will be I think
nothing else will change at all, besides from what I have heard of XIII's soundtrack neither japanese songs "tune" is even in the game either as a instrumental piece like suteki da ne was in FFX e.t.c.
basically the HUGE MELTDOWNS that occured when they said we would get my hands instead of kimi iku gara were all for nothing
