They are going to perish. Knowing what they could do to to avoid this but because they are narrow minded they prefer to die on the HD Consoles instead to go the SD way.

Did you look through the list of buy outs closing and mergers just this year?

have you been reading financial reports? numerous publishers are bleeding money, developers with the major hits on the HD consoles will be just fine, and even that isn't a certainty,  How many of them can you honestly say have spent a comparable resources on comparable products on the wii as they have been on the HD twins? How many times has the wii needed to be tested by a strange game? the HD twins? why is dead space extraction being treated by many as some sort of proof positive of the wii's inability to move games?  Why are failures like golden axe beast rider or bionic commando quietly forgotten?  People are stubborn in their ways to destructive ends at times(why do people keep smoking even when they know it is harmful?)

a stranglehold or two for almost anyone could easily be fatal

ultimately it comes down to explaining things to their shareholders, nice ambiguous language can be used with the wii, volitile market, or statements that can't be proven such as claiming the wii is put away for months at a time, explanation with the HD twins would call for an explanation as to why costs exceeded revenue, not some vague shift in buying habits. Especailly when you do not want to change how you do business?
