Onyxmeth said: I thought the motto of every Final Fantasy was"If it's not broke...fix it". Isn't that why we have a dozen fighting systems, storylines, etc. and the last three particularly are all on different ends of the spectrum? I mean really, how much in common are Final Fantasy X, XI and XII? |
Ignore XI, as actually I think XII has a very similar battle system. IMO the systems really haven't changed that much. My experience is from playing FF X, X-2, XII and VII (soon VIII! hurry up and put it on the PSN!!!), and fundamentally, it is people taking turns, its just that in X-2 and VII, it is active, and in XII you can move around. XIII is not too dis-similar again
You don't want the exact same battle system, same with levelling up, you want to be able to discover a new system, as after 100 hours with 1, you are ready to master a new one.
Anyway, I want them to keep making Final Fantasy, and I certainly want a franchise with a nice turn based game, and I do agree that they should not change it too drastically. In fact, I would be very happy if instead of bring FF XV to this gen, they made Versus and then remade X, VII, VIII and IX in HD, that would be lovely
