I think we have to look at Sony and what they will be offering overall through their company to get a good idea how well they will do:

1) More 3D movies are being made using Sony tech (Camera's etc)
2) 3D movies making more money and cannot be pirated (sales for Sony through cinema distribution and dvd and BR)
3) With the economy recovering, the 10-15% losses from the Yen will be brought down.
4) The $30-40 on each PS3 sold will either be nullified or maybe even a slight profit will be made.
5) Increases in 3D cinemas will give a boost to 3D tech sales
6) BR user base is growing rapidly as price for BR is decreasing
7) Money made through Micheal Jackson's death through record, dvd and movie sales.
8) Big software releases next year such as; GOW3 and GT5 with possible sleeper hits like Modnation racers.
9) New ps3 compatible phones
10) PS Gem or wand making a possible impact on casual gamers.

If Stringer knows what he is doing and can get the company to market the products right etc, it may well be a great year for Sony overall as a company, but we have to look at the whole division rather than gaming on its own, only then are we taking on the debate on what he had to say in full context to what he actually said.

I however am very disappointed in Sony still not releasing any hybrid BR's which combine both; game and film in one. They spoke about it but nothing has come since. How awesome would it be to have Chronicles of Riddick the film and game one one BR! Or DMC4 with the DMC anime series etc.
