Funny thread. People will go to any lengths to try and down play Sony.

Avatar was filmed using Sony cameras. Movie projectors are Sony. 11,000 cinemas in the US have Sony 3d projectors.  etc etc.

i know its sad, all them years they played ps1 and ps2 and now they seem to downplay sony based entirely on the fact that they bought an xbox 360 1st.

Its actually the oposite... a few people are trying to glorify Sonys importance in 3D. Ive been gaming in 3D for almost a year now...and I don't have a single Sony product in the household.

What sony is announcing is nothing new...

@totalcluedo

You don't know what you are talking about. RealD projectors are used to show Avatar. http://www.reald.com/

All of the TV electronics giants are kissing RealD's ass right now in allowing them to use their 3D tech on their TVs.

Why is it so important to you?. Sony have dominated 3d upto now. The tv market is the one area they dont yet. The many others they do.

lol...please do elaborate on Sony 3D domination.

Sony studios released Polar Express in 3D!!! Woot! Thats about it...

What 3d movies werent from Sony tech?.

Avatar is the first I believe... I know Sony made the camera for that. The results were quite astonishing so they definetly have the camera for 3D. But impressive 3D has been made for many years now... Using many other cameras, such as this...http://www.red.com/epic_scarlet/

Fuji an RealD made some famous 3D cameras before as well.

I rest my case.

haha but but lol
