3 reasons

1. Lack of support by Sony especially on 2008.
2. Lot of ports. PS2 to PSP? Wii to PSP? DS to PSP?
3. Piracy ( everyone who denies that are only fooling themselves ) It sure helps sell a lot of hardware but it became a double edge sword and really hurt Sony in the long run.

It's the mixture of those 3.

PS. PSP is not a failure selling 55 million ( still selling ) is not a failure. I really hope Metal gear and KH will invigorate it sale for one last push and PSP is still far from dead yet thanks to Japan.

If anything it was piracy that helped psp hardware sell.....it definitely wouldnt be at 55 million if there wasnt any piracy.

Yeah that's what I said (bold part). Do you think Sony is happy that piracy helps sell hardwares especially the third parties? Piracy is like a virus slowly killing it's host. Look what happen at the software side. That's why it's a double edge sword.

I wasnt argueing with your post , im just focusing on the piracy part and I do agree with you but....piracy was rampant on the ps2 and it still sold software.....piracy on the ds is also more rampant than compared to the psp and it still sold alot of software.

The point im trying to make is that the reality of this business is that there will eventually be piracy on your product but you cant make that into an excuse of why software isnt selling when other consoles software have had amazing success while dealing with piracy.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!
