No one can deny that Sony done the right thing for their business and they will not stop. They will drop the price again early next year right before MGS4 release. They will put the acid on, they have no option.

I don't think MGS4 will be early next year, and I don't think Sony will lower the price again, especially if it is early next year. But I'm done trying to understand Sony.

Still, if they had no other option, you're simply saying what we're saying: they were and are desperate. Sure, you're making it sound better and a lot wiser, but it's the same thing. Plus, I never said it was the wrong decision, in particular given that it's somewhat paying off. I just don't think they can keep doing over and over, and still expect to ever make the PS3 a profitable operation.

I don't think profit is at the foremost at Sony's plans right now. If Sony try and turn profit next year then they can kiss competeing with the 360 goodbye. It's a decision that the company has to make but something will be sacrificed due to errors made in the past. What's worse for Sony: Losing millions on profit or losing all the 3rd party franchises and market share you worked so hard to get? This year Sony choose the latter, as it was S-E/Konami that forced the price drop and 40GB.

They will drop the price because they HAVE to. Games like Killzone 2 and Gran Turismo 5 will be the money spinners for Sony, not the hardware and that is what Sony should be aiming at.

If S-E drop Sony support then Sony are dead in the water. Simple as that and Sony know it.
