Watching the latest leaked vids and watching different forums and people's individuals reactions to the latest gameplay movies, i can't help but say that my expectations for the game has been lowered.

Granted, i was very skeptical about the game at first and although i am now a tad bit on the optimistic side, i can't help but say that critical reception for this game will be mixed (mixed meaning low 80s, high 70s) with a 10 on graphics, and a mere 7 for gameplay, and maybe an 8 for the "innovation" part. I would like to be proven wrong, but I think the graphics will be one major thing that will save this game from mediocrity at worst, and at best, it will carve out a niche audience for this movie-game fusion genre (which will include me).  =]

First of all Heavy Rain is not a video game. It was never meant to be a video game and it never will be. The dev said himself it isn't a videogame and the title was inspired by his viewing of Pixars 'Up' with his children and wanted to make a movie title for mature adults that people in their 40's like himself can view without gameplay complications and have an effect on the lives of main protagonists. This IS an interactive mature title that people over the age of 40 should be attracted to, which is why he isn't expecting it to sell amazingly well. He said it was a game, but I knew better and he proved me right when he said it is longer a game. When he told me about his inspiration it sealed the deal.

really? its not a video game? why would they market it as not a video game anyway? if its strictly an interactive movie, it will never sell at 60 dollars. i personally hope the game will play like a video game even if its really different.

Did you see what I wrote about what the dev Cage said?  He said it is no longer a video game and I totally agree with him as well on that. Actually I never thought it was a video game. Everything is predetermined, you just have to put in the button command and save your characters life while the story unfolds or die and move on to the next player. It's that simple. This will probably be the fastest title i'll ever finish because of what it is. In that respect, is it worth 60 dollars? I dunno....thats up to you, but I am not buying it. It's not expected to sell very well anyway.

I agree with this completely. Heavy Rain is an interactive movie. Dragon's Lair, basically.

Anyway STAGE, how can u say that Cage was inspired by Up, as Up is a movie only one year old while Heay Rain has been in development for like four years?

For Heavy Rain to be like Dragon's Lair the game would have to end everytime you fucked up, which it doesn't.  It's like if in Mass Effect 2 everytime you said something wrong to someone they shot and killed you and you had to restart the entire game.  You understate the massive amount of work the developer has put into making every single possible outcome by comparing the two.  If it was like Dragon's Lair it would've been released already.
