I liked it a lot, but didn't love it. Story was dumb and was kinda obvious on what it's trying to say.

Like what? That tech and power hungryness is bad and you mustn't exploit nature and the indegenous cultures?

Or was it a comment about the artificial versus the natural?

Well, they made the Army/Navy seem like bad people, and with family in the military, I found it offensive. The story itself also had major similarities with the Iraq war from the media perspective, like going for precious resources, exploiting a group of people, pretending to be helping when you are destroying, ect.

I don't mean to start an off-topic debate, but that was how I viewed the plot, and why I found it dumb.

I would argue it made private military and general greedy corporations look bad, not the military itself. And the similarities in the Iraq war are partially there, but I thought it had far more in common with when the Europeans came over to the America's, or when Europe went... well anywhere during that period. That mixed in with a bit of Fern Gully.
