Hard finish is possible on first play through, I did mine as a hero on my first playthrough.
You need to go through the "tutorials" without dying. If you do well, you get "promoted" to hard and as long as you don't alter the hard mode, not even once. It's yours.
PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.
