Huh? Shouldn't high hardware sales lower the tie in ratio?

The thing is, soooo much software is bought during the holiday period.  Only new owners are buying hardware, but both new and old owners are buying software.

This old thread does a decent job of showing that.  Notice how the average number of weeks between software purchases steadily climb throughout the year, and then rapidly fall during the fourth quarter.

EDIT: I just noticed he said hardware instead of software.  If he meant to say software, then what I said still applies.  If he really did mean to say hardware, then I have no clue what he meant.
