@lazyrider : you don't look well enough, I see plenty of damage control in this thread.

Anyway, PS3 wins again.

Congrats to Sony for selling 950 k PS3 for two weeks in a row and hugely outselling their cheaper competitor again.

So be it...

For me damage control is justifying low sales ("it was sold out", "snow storms slowed business down that week", "X gam only had 2 dyas of sales", etc... are some classics).

What is happening here are simply people saying that the PS3 did not sell one million (based on the figures being used, ie VGChartz) which is indeed true.

I would agree that Seece saying the "wait til adjustements" post was damage control but not he ended being right...

Anyway, nice flame baiting with your last sentence, real slick.

ioi himself said shortages were the cause of the PS3 falling short of a million. Also, I'm confused by the highlighted: the PS3 doing 964,000 is now considered "low sales"?

Geez you are sensitive! You are on all the threads defending the fact that the PS3 sold well when all anyone is saying is that it didn't sell 1 million.

For the highlighted part, I was speaking in general terms and was not specific to this week's sales of the PS3 (or any other console for that matter). I was only trying to define what I perceive as damage control in general, and that usually happens when low sales occur. Which as you pointed out was not the PS3's case last week.

This whole "PS3 1 million" fiasco reminds me of DmeisterJ's glory days on VGC when he kept yelling (cause it was in capital letters....) that "LBP will be huge" and how that backfired in his face when, despite selling great people kept downplaying it by saying "Well it sold well but it ain't huge".

This is just a whole lot of posts for nothing... (mine included)
