Ok you want more examples of why saying "it's the law" is a bullshit agument?
It was legal to hang blacks in one point of time or another. It was legal to treat them as livestock. At one point it wass illegal to consume alcohol. At one point it was illegal to have an abortion now it's kind of legal and it might be illegal again. At one point drugs were not illegal. Just a few decades ago it wasn't illegal to drive drunk. In Wyoming it was legal to drive drunk up until 2005, I think.
Had enough or do you want to admit you know shit about what you are talking about?

How about pointing out current laws instead of ones that haven't been overturned? You really think there's legitimate comparisons to be made between laws pertaining to people and laws pertaining to property? Get over yourself. I'm not going to be told that I "don't know shit about what I'm talking about" by someone who thinks it was illegal for Nazi citizens not to kill Jews. Open up a history book sometime, you might learn something.

I'm minoring in history so don't even bother.
Also do you realize that just because they overturned previous laws that doesn't mean there are no laws to overturn anymore? You are assuming here that there needs to be no more social change. It's extremely legitamate to compare laws which don't follow morallity with other laws which didn't follow morallity, that's why history is. Go learn so history and we can talk more.

Go ahead and explain to me how piracy laws don't follow morality. Again, sorry, but there's no way in hell comparing it to slavery and the Holocaust isn't ridiculous. You just can't get over the fact that it's illegal some places, and if we went by your logic then hey, nothing should be illegal now because in the future we might have a different morality and adjust the laws accordingly, right? Try living your life through that kind of thinking and let me know how far you get.
Pretty sad that a history minor doesn't know some simple information about WWII events is all I'll say.

Except that piracy has been brought up right now as a moral issue, the other future things have not yet. Hence it is pointless arguing about legality. When we come to discuss future issues morally, then we can take out legality to those as well.
