Lame. Why is it then a partner like Enterbrain can "afford" to deliver a weekly top thirty with numbers, a mammoth top 500 at the end of every year and even periodic random ltd updates when relevant (by platform, by category, by series, etc)? NPD's lack of transparency is inexcusable by comparison, especially when they're holding a monopoly for coverage of the self-described "most important market". NeoGAF never should've caved to that devil's bargain, especially since NPDs never upheld their promised end anyway (the original deal was a top 20 and top tens per platform, complete with numbers).
