Because despite the best intentions of the site owner, they just aren't very accurate. We saw this when the last set of NPD numbers came out. I'll stick with the data collected and projected by NPD.

Why do you think games keep getting released without Wii support, while the Wii gets stuck with stuff like EA Playground? Publishers just aren't checkingi out the numbers on this site?
