i've definetly heard the sony hype that MGS4 will be THE game to sell the ps3 (other forums though, part of why i like VG chartz is people are much better behaved). of course they are the same fanboys that said the same about uncharted, ratchet and clank, EoJ, folklore, lair, UT, so basically every ps3 exclusive.
i'm not that familur with the MGS series so i looked up the data.
halo 2 on XB: 8.4 million
MGS3 on ps2: 4 million
so about half the sales on a much larger user base. i'll take that to mean that MGS4 won't push the sales of the ps3 as much as halo3 did for the 360. almost a shame cause from the videos i've seen MGS4 is looking to be a much better game than halo3.
