| fwap said: There's no doubt Natal will get a huge amount of attention, if for no other reason than Microsoft will launch an enormous campaign leading up to its launch. There have even been suggestions that it will be of the level of a 'next generation' console release. However, what will determine the success of Natal is its application and support. Many people considered the Wii a fad that would just die out within a couple of months, and then a year, and then within two years. But it's still a success because it has been applied well to games, most specifically games related to the expanded audience. It remains to be seen whether Natal will achieve something similiar. Right now I don't see it at all, but hopefully with new information being released we will get a clearer picture what Natal will mean to us precisely. But it will no doubt garner a huge amount of attention during its inception. |
Yes I think Microsoft has got the first step down... they have the attention of everyone in the gaming community and soon most people will know about it. Their second step is going to be the interesting one. How do you capitalize on this and if they do what kind of effect will it have on the gaming industry?
