your right because all Sony can is rely on the PS2 because nothing else they makes money.

I meant with regards to gaming (should have been more clear), as its their only successful platform at the moment

Lifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles

You cant be serious!!!!!!!!!

100% serious

i want some of whatever you are smoking. sounds like powerful stuff.

current things the ps2 had which the wii dosen't which imo makes it nigh impossible for the wii to touch ps2 numbers:

-extremely good 3rd party support (which brings us to the next point)

- longevity  (you think the wii will be pushing ps2 level numbers 6 years from now without tons of good 3rd party games available?)

-additional functionality beyond gaming for a broader appeal (ps2 = cd player, dvd player w/ digital audio)

Wii has already has appeal broader than the PS2, simply due to the accessibility of the system.

PS2's support wasn't all that strong in its first year, lets wait a little bit and see where the Wii's support goes shall we

Also Wii has third party games that are selling very well on its system in fact it has about 10 million selling games already, i'd say that's a pretty impressive feat for its first year

The Wii is already scaling better than the PS2 in terms of sales and in terms of mindshare, the Wii has penetrated modern day pop culture in a way even the PS2 did not

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
