It's because PS3 owners are smart enough to not buy a game where basic features require the purchase of pricey DLC.

!@#)$-ing EA can stuff their Warden's Keep DLC...*grumble grumble*

It irritated me when I went to two areas back to back and each one (party camp and some area on the western side of the map) each had one guy to really talk to and each one had an interesting quest that ended up hitting me with an option telling me I need to download shit to do it.

Talk about invasive.

It also doesn't help that one of those downloads is like $15.

 

The game is good so far but I can honestly say that I am glad I rented it and didn't buy it.
