They are both very flawed games.

When I look at both I fail to care which is better because if I never played either of them I wouldn't be missing much.

In what ways are they flawed? Please expand on your comment.

I personally do not like JRPGs but I wouldn't say that FF13 is flawed because I do not like it or will not play it.

I think that the discussion has become so heated because in part both KZ2 and MW2 are excellent FPS. MW2 won best shooter here but KZ2 won best shooter at Gamespot. Both decisions are not scandalous though I personally favour KZ2.

I think WaW is better than both KZ2 and MW2.

KZ2 story was overdone macho bullshit and MW2 story was a bunch of mixed up characters with stupid twists and events that served no purpose other than shock value.  WaW while by no means an amazing story was kept simple enough to not become a joke of itself like MW2 and it didn't have to resort to macho bullshit with constant swearing and not much else like KZ2.

For multiplayer WaW just craps over both of them.  They all are very similar infinitry limited shooters so it come down to game modes first.  WaW has a large variety of competitive game modes, beats KZ2 numbers and I think is equal with MW2.  However WaW then goes beyond this and included 4 player online co-op.  For both campaign and the all new Nazi Zombie game, plus it allowed competitive co-op and the death card modifiers to mix things up a bit.   By comparison KZ2 has no co-op at all and MW2 has a 2 player only mini-game co-op with no replay value and which doesn't even have a matchmaking system.

MW2 and KZ2 also suffer a community made problem.  They give the players too many options and players in general aren't very clever when it comes to balance.  Playing KZ2 I never once found a game with friendly fire turned on, a lot of games were filled with nade spamming even at allies feet and players running back and forth getting hit by friendly fire.  Most of the time the Assault class was disabled also, or the class was enabled but rockets and nade launchers disabled.  Various other problems with stupid settings on some game types removing what should be good for the game.

MW2 suffers problems with the sheer amount of add-ons to guns and perks and kill streaks and death streaks.  A major complaint with the first was campers and MW2 gives a bunch of new gadgets, perks and kill streaks that encourage more camping, more useful things than what encourages people not to camp, this is goes against nearly every game modes intentions and is thus counter productive.  The game is also filled with kill streak rewards now probably earning more kills than guns and some of them are so unbalanced it is just silly.  I'm not sure if any thought actually went into balancing and not just "This would look cool and make people talk".   WaW does options better, they give the player some personal modifiers but nothing very drastic and most importantly nothing that affects other people, the options affect the player that uses them only.

KZ2 story = agreed it's not its major strength :) However I think the gameplay was fun with some really great set-pieces and some challenging levels, especially on elite (possibly too challenging).

KZ2 community = we form part of that. we should help out by setting up games based on our likes. If that is popular, other people will join.

KZ2 multiplayer = downright fun. 16 vs 16 bloodbaths are amazing. I love playing that at Blood Gracht!

KZ2 co-op = would have been very nice hope to see it in KZ3
