Why does Nintendo take that long to make games compared to HD consoles?

I think its how Nintendo keeps things fresh adn not release a sequel every 2 yrs. Seriously i'd rather they do that than ruining a franchise. Plus they have alot more franchises to work on unlike 3rd party companies that rly focus on 2-3 franchises
