Well Black Friday is passed and if tradition serves correctly, it’s the day that sets the trends for the holidays.  How was the console war affected by Black Friday?  Word on the streets is that Wii’s are still hard to find, Xbox Premium and Elite  systems are nowhere to be found and PS3 systems are everywhere, yet still selling.

If you want to get an 80gb or 40gb PS3, they are in plentiful piles.  You can pretty much go to any store and buy one.  Even thought the price drop has caused a sales surge, the stock from the past few months is in abundance.  If you want a PS3 for Xmas, you should have no problems finding one.

Xbox 360’s now come in 4 flavors: the Elite, the Premium, the Arcade and the Halo 3 box.  Halo 3 boxes are easy to find.  People just don’t seem to like that color so they aren’t jumping on it.  Arcade systems are here and there.  In my travels through many stores I was unable to find Premiums in abundance.  Some stores had none at all while others had just a few.   The Elite however, has disappeared off the planet.  I did not see one Elite this weekend at all.

Wii stock is just like last year.  It comes and it goes.  It’s just as popular as it was last Christmas if not more.  I really thought they would be easier to find this year but Nintendo is doing it’s best to keep demand up.  Shit, all I want to play is Wii Sports!  I may have to import or mail order a couple.

If this Black Friday forshadows the holidays ahead, you can be rest assured that it will be just like last year with Wii at 1st place, X360 at 2nd and PS3 at 3rd in sales.  You heard it here first.  Keep your eyes peeled.

If sony is claiming 300% ect in sales can only imagine the Wii and 360.  Is that 17 million really out of reach for the 360?  I remember reading some article saying the 360 would be hard to come by and sort of figured it was PR bullshit but I guess I might have been wrong.  Can't wait to see the vgchartz numbers for the end of this month as well as NPD.
