| Tetsuo Shima said: RE4 as we all know did extremely well (Japan excluded). On 11.13 in US will hit RE: TUCh and I wonder how strongly success of RE 4 affects on this title. Actually these two games are very different but how many people still want to kill some zombies? I think game will do very poorly because of RE4 and SMG. It struggles to enter top 50 on amazon.com two days before release. I predict 30k for a start. Does Capcom support this title with some ad campaign in US or believes it will sell on it's own? Your expectation? |
Launch sales:
America: 128,109
Japan: 109,988
so...tempting...to...serve...some...crow...
So it sold 3.5 times more in Japan than you thought it would sell in America and 4 times more in America than your prediction.
Going forward, do you still think that RE4:WE and SMG are going to hamper RE:UC's sales? Do not forget that Capcom's forecast (the number they used to greenlight the game) was 620k shipped by march 2008 so that is the bar that it has to clear to be considered a full success (although between America and Japan first week it should be close to breaking even already).
