Compared to what MS has lost on the Xbox over the last 7 years, Sony isn't hemmoraging anything. MS isn't in that much better shape to offer a price cut if they ever want earn back the $5 billion plus they've already lost. Sony has barely suffered a paper cut. On top of that, Sony as a company is still making a profit, so I don't think they're too worried at this early stage in the game. No doubt this Christmas is important for all the companies, but the fact of the matter is that we still have probably 4-5 years left in this generation. |
Do you understand the Microsoft is considerably bigger then sony and can easily take these hits with their reserve cash. When MS lost the most money i heard they maybe lost 1/6 of their profit (big) but sony is lost almost HALF of their profit from the ps3.
If HD DVD gains support this christmas i would be pretty danm worried if i was sony.
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.
Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
