PS2 or PS3 doesnt matter, same controller, and the way the sticks are laid out, its just not good for FPS. I played resistene, and while the controls were improved for that game, that doesn't change the layout of the actual controller, which doesn't compare to 360 controller for FPS games. On another note, that game does look amazing for a console shooter, I can't wait to see it in action myself. Still though, I have my doubts about the over quality of the game when it comes to gameplay, because I played kz1, and I don't think I need to elaborate any further.

Thats what I mean. I've played other playstation FPS and the pad just doesnt work all that well. nothing to do with developers, more  to do with sonys wanting to make the pad look symettrical. Using both thumbsticks that close together feels wrong and cumbersome.

Its probably going to be a really good game but marred by the controllers design.

Don't be ridiculous. I've played dozens of shooters using the dualshock over the years and have had no problems at all, as have millions of others. I've also played shooters using the original Xbox controller, and the Gamecube controller, both of which I found worked fine. It perhaps only feels 'wrong' because you aren't used to it.

After playing Resistance and COD4 on the PS3 I can safely say the Sixaxis controller works for FPS, and that for any gamer who's in anyway familiar with a dualshock, it's certainly not going to take away from the experience.
