You should keep the Colourless Demon's Souls to use them on upgrading the unique weapons to +5, or at least, keep five of them, so you can upgrade the Dark Silver Shield to +5, trust me, it will be totally worth it :)
The Vendor at 4-2 was the only one that I didn't kill, since he's the cheapest arrow vendor in the entire game, at 10s a piece xD
