Sunshine was released in July, an excellent time for schoolchildren to pick it up and a much better time of the year sales wise in Japan generally... Yes it has been a tad dissapointing none the less, i wanted it to at least 1.5X Sunshine (worldwide anyway) but after looking at the past charts it's clear the time of the year in Japan has affected it quite a bit

Well, the time of the year doesn't seem to have stopped anyone picking up Mario Party DS, which has almost outsold Mario Galaxy in only 2 weeks on sale.

Galaxy has been out for 3 weeks (that's only 1 week more) and last time I checked, the DS had more than five times the userbase of the Wii in Japan.

So you are saying it is only logical that Mario Party DS sells better than Mario Galaxy because the DS has a bigger user base? If so, how come Mario Galaxy hasn't sold better than Mario Sunshine? The way I see it, only 1 in 10 Japanese Wii owners have bothered to pick up Galaxy so far.
