I'm not seeing the different circumstances. In fact I would say it's more egregious in KH's case, because SO2SE had a basic teaser for SO4 while KHs is wholely relevant to the series and a blatant way of saying "here's the next chapter in the Kingdom Hearts franchise!" complete with cryptic images to rile up the fans and start rampant speculation.
The idea that a teaser video can't relate to a game that isn't on the competitor's platform is just that - an idea. And it has little basis in reality because we've seen that there is no rule that says this is true; Star Ocean 4 proved that. When Square Enix and Nomura put together these teasers of the next installment at the end of certain KH games, it's got nothing to do with console wars bullshit. They don't care and it's not their intention. It is completely based on the storyline of the franchise. In many cases, they don't even know where the next game will end up.
