Does Demon's Souls have a chance at an overall GOTY award?

Honestly, the other reason you'd want the game you enjoyed to win GOTY or any award is so that it gets more recognition so that others buy it as well. The more people buy it, the better the chance of a sequal or a new game all in all that will have a higher budget next time around. At the same time you want others to hopefully enjoy that same experience you had. Demon's Souls had poor marketing in my opinion, but winning GOTY will surely give consumers a thing or two to think about at the stores.

I would love to walk into a store and see a GOTY sticker on Demon's Souls.

 

I also wish I could walk into Walmart and actually see them stock this wonderful game.
